Colorado Gold Environmental Leadership

The Colorado Environmental Leadership Program is a voluntary program that provides the regulated environmental community with incentives to go beyond essential compliance with environmental laws and regulations.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has recognized 153 companies this year for outstanding environmental achievements that help keep Colorado a desirable place to work and live.
The rewards recognized Colorado organizations with gold, silver and bronze designations for voluntarily going beyond compliance with federal regulations and for their commitment to continual environmental improvement.
This year's program recognized Clifton Sanitation District as a Gold Leader. The State Recognition for the highest level is Gold.  To receive the Gold, companies must have past environmental achievements, provide environmental improvement goals, maintain a fully functional Environmental Management System (EMS), and have a three-year clean compliance record.
